Claudia studied architecture in Germany, graduating from
the Fachhochschule Rheinland-Pfalz, Abteilung Trier (an
architecture school similar to UNITEC Auckland) in Trier,
Germany in 1985.
She also studied for one year Interior Design at the same
school, as well as Building Biology and Ecology at the ‘Institut
fuer Baubiologie & Oekologie’ (Institute of Building
Biology & Ecology), completing a one year correspondence
course in 1985.
From 1985 to 1992 she has been working in different German
architectural practices.
In March 1989 Claudia registered with the ‘Architektenkammer
NRW’ (List of Architects, Chamber of Architects North-Rhine
Westphalia, public law entity) entitling her to use the
professional designation “Architect” in North-Rhine
Westphalia.
In 1994 she immigrated to NZ to live
on Waiheke Island.
After running her architectural practice for 10 years
she joined with her partner, Ole Toft, in 2004, to trade
as
Lapp & Toft Architecture Ltd.

Ole studied Architecture at the University of Auckland graduating
in 2003.
Prior to this he worked as a builder for 10 years mostly
on new residential & alterations to Villas.
Additional to experience in the construction industry he
studied professional photography at Unitec, Auckland and
worked briefly as a freelance photographer.
During this time he participated in group photographic exhibitions.
Before commencing practice as Lapp & Toft Architecture
he worked for an established Architect’s practice.
