Three Bedroom Home in Bush Setting

Waiheke Island

Built on several levels with expansive views

Bush setting builds on several layers with expansive views.

This bush section in Rocky Bay raises steeply from the road to a ridge and falls again towards the north, providing an expansive view from the ridge.

It is positioned adjacent to a reserve, providing privacy.

A driveway was designed leading up from the road as far as possible to a timber parking platform below the house and a large Pohutukawa tree.

The building is designed at several levels to comply with height to boundary regulations, and to follow the contours of the land.

The open plan living area and the main bedroom with ensuite are positioned at the top level, together with a wide deck, all areas enjoying the view from the ridge.

2 more bedrooms and a bathroom are positioned on the lower level.

A void over the staircase connects both levels visually.

The contemporary design features aluminium Nuwall cladding (or Cedar vertical shiplap as an alternative), a coloursteel roof and timber decks.

A big storage area below the bedrooms allows for parking of a scooter and storage for kayaks.
